Happy Birthday Elvis Presley!!!

On June 9, 1972, Elvis Presley was having his very first performance ever in New York City. The venue was The World's Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden. He Played 4 Shows at the Garden that weekend.

Ticket Prices were a whopping $10.

Elvis thought that was a lot for ordinary people so a Special Matinee show was added on June 10th 1972. Ticket prices for this show were only $5. This matinee show was said to be the best show of the 4 performances.

That performance on Saturday afternoon was recorded for a live album " ELVIS as recorded at Madison Square Garden.

A Funny thing happened... Someone upfront in the audience somehow got an 8mm Movie Camera into the show and recorded about 18 minutes of the concert. 8mm cameras back then had no capabilities of recording sound so all she got was the Concert but no sound.

Well.... The Movie she took was put together with the music from the album and We have an 8MM Movie of Elvis Presley Live in 1972 in New York City!!! There are a few spots ...

Happy Birthday Elvis Presley!!!

During a July 20, 1975 concert, between songs Elvis was joking around and giving out scarves when he noticed a little girl standing on the far left of the stage. He walked over and knelt down on one knee in front of her. Realizing she was blind, Elvis held her hands and spoke to her for a few minutes. The audience could not hear as he kept the microphone away from his mouth. He then kissed his scarf and touched both her eyes with it. When he was finished he took the scarf and held it to the child's face. The little girl stood there with complete confidence in what Elvis was doing. The girl had been blind since birth.
